REGISTRATION OF VEHICLES
Policy Registration initiated at a particular station should be completed at the same station. Where officer have cause to doubt the identity of the owner or agent, he/she could request for declaration from court.or could be present additional information. Requirements: Any vehicle which is shipped into the country and used on public road must be registered at the DVLA Office. The vehicle could be registered by the owner of the vehicle or an agent i.e. one authorized by the owner of the vehicle. Vehicle Owner: The person whose name appears on the customs documents. There are customs officials at all DVLA registration centers.
The owner / agent must provide the following: - Customs documents released
- Vehicle for a inspection and examination
- Any form of Identification i.e. passport, voters ID. Any photo ID

Bulk Issue of number does not require transfer of files. Change of registration number requires approval from Chief Executive - Request from security service to Head Office

- Note in the register the reference number of letter from head office
ISSUES - Change of registration number

- Registration fees/weight of vehicle
- Contact motor firms for vehicle weight
- Register: some columns should be deleted
- Vans with cubic capacity up 2000 pay as in the LI
- Articulators pay the same amount (¢1.2 million)
ADMINISTRATIVE CONCERNS Request from outstation: - Should be requested by Regional and District Licensing Officers (by phone)
- Documents should be sent to the station of origin after processing
- Keep photocopies at station of request
- Such number should be treated as special numbers
